WHAT'S UP PEOPLE!!!! I AM WRITING IN CAPS TO SHOW HOW MUCH NOW I HATE NETWORKING.
I HAVE BEEN NETWORKING FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS NOW AND IT LEAD TO SOME GOOD AND BAD JOBS. RECENTLY, I HAD AN OPPORTUNITY WORKING FOR A COMPANY THAT WORKS IN THE MEDICAL LINE WHICH IS EYE CARE.
THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY OFFERED MYSELF A POSITION WITHIN THE COMPANY TO WORK WITH THE STUDENTS. I ACCEPTED THIS OFFER, SO I DID NOT DO ANY JOB HUNTING, FOR WHICH THIS JOB GAVE MYSELF OPPORTUNITY.
THIS COMPANY IS CALLED SUPER EYE SPEX. THE WHOLE BUSINESS APPROACH IS TO GIVE STUDENTS A BETTER VISION CARE THAN EVER. OVER THE TIME SPENT HELPING AND NOT GETTING PAID WAS USELESS. I THOUGHT I HAD A JOB, BUT IT TURNED OUT SHIT.
THAT FUCKEN MADE MY FUCKEN DAY FOR LIFE. I KNEW THAT THIS JOB IS GOING NO WHERE, BUT A SMALL PART WANTED THIS TO GO THROUGH, BUT NOW MY REP WITH THE STUDENT ORGANIZATION WENT DOWN FOR THE RECORD.
IN THE END, I LEAVE MY RANT WITH ONE ADVICE AND THAT IS "GET A FUCKEN WRITTEN CONTRACT BY THE PERSON BEFORE ACCEPTING ANY POSITION WITH ANY COMPANY THAT SAYS THEY WILL HIRE YOUR ASS OR WHAT THE JOB IS ALL ABOUT."
any experience is good experience. now you have one more line to add to your resume. a wise man once told me "a uni degree is nothing without experience. at the end of 4 years of busting your ass, you are allowed to add 1 line to your resume. you have to fill the remainder with something"
ReplyDeleteand its true. ive spoken to a lot of managers and execs and they have 1 major complaint about our generation: too much school and not enough experience. They all say that they would choose a mediocre student with RELEVANT experience over an outstanding student, any day of the week.
so dont worry about getting screwed out of this job, the little while you have spent with the company might be enough to get you something better.
PS: have them write you a reference letter.
edit: "They all say that they would choose a mediocre student with RELEVANT experience over an outstanding student with no experence, any day of the week.
